Subarnapur: CM Relief Fund Saves Life of a Carpenter from Post Tuberculosis OAD

Subarnapur: Life of a carpenter was saved from a serious ailment due to the timely intervention of the Odisha Government.

Prasanta Mallick, a resident of Binka NAC in Subarnapur district, was leading his family life peacefully getting income from carpentry. All of a sudden, his health was deteriorated. He suffered from Post Tuberculosis Obstructive Airway Disease (OAD) with respiratory failure.

As per doctor’s advice, he was in need of long term home oxygen supplementation for his survival. He managed to arrange oxygen for some months.

When the plight of Prasanta Mallick was brought to notice of the administration, Subarnapur Collector Monisha Banerjee came forward to help the destitute family.

She requested the GA&PG Department for sanction of funds for purchase of oxygen concentrator. The funds were sanctioned out of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) by the State Government.

Immediately an oxygen concentrator was purchased and supplied to Mallick on September 17.

Mallick along with family members were very much enthusiastic on getting of much-needed oxygen concentrator, which has saved the life of the patient. They expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Subarnapur Collector for the humanitarian gesture.
