Subarnapur Introduces ‘Doctors on Call’ Service for COVID-19 Patients in Home Isolation

Subarnapur: Taking yet another pro-active step in its fight against second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, Subarnapur district has started ‘Doctors on Call’ service to provide telemedicine and consultation to the COVID-19 patients in home isolation.

Talking about the initiative, Subarnapur Collector Manisha Banerjee said, “It is mainly to provide support and consultation to COVID positive patients in home isolation since the district has almost 99% patients in homes”.

This is a completely free service, and anyone who is suffering from COVID-19 symptoms – cough, fever, tiredness and difficulty in breathing etc. can call the helpline.

The general patients can also take consultations from the doctors.

The doctors from specific departments like medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics are available for the tele-consultation.

The service will facilitate remote treatment of patients without requiring them to visit hospitals for minor ailments that don’t require intensive hospital care in view of the lockdown imposed the government to beat the second wave of COVID-19.
