Bhubaneswar: Sujata Rout Karthikeyan, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Odia Language Literature and Culture Department, has appealed all Odias and Odia associations to sing the State Anthem Bande Utkal Janani at 11 AM tomorrow on the occasion of the inauguration of the first World Odia Language Conference. The inaugural function will start with the anthem Bande Utkal Janani. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to inaugurate this three-day grand event being held at the Janata Maidan.
In her appeal, Sujata has written “To celebrate our language and rich cultural history, it is requested that our State anthem be sung at 11.00 AM on 3rd February by all throughout the State and also by the Odia Diaspora residing outside the state and country.”
