Sundargarh Police Solves Murder Mystery

Sundergarh: The Sundargarh police today solved a mystery involving the murder of a teen age girl. On 22nd July, the dead body of one young girl of about 15 years of age was found inside the jungle near Basundhara river in a decomposed state under Hemagiri Police station limits in Sundargarh district.

Police took up this challenge to solve the murder mystery of the minor girl as the decomposed dead body could not provide much evidence. Police deployed special teams to work out the clues, conduct local enquiry, collected technical intelligence. With dedicated and sustained investigation, police cracked the case within 24 hours. Police arrested the accused Kuldeep Magar and the accused confessed to have raped the victim girl and then murdered her by throttling her neck on 20th July.

The accused again visited the spot after some time and buried the dead body under branches and leaves.
Police has forwarded the accused for rape and murder of a minor girl and invoked the POCSO Act. Police will take expeditious step to complete the investigation quickly and submit the charge sheet in the court.

Odisha Police follows a zero tolerance policy towards sexual offences against minor girls. Earlier Odisha Police had undertaken campaign “PAREE” throughout the state to create awareness about sexual offences against minor girls.
