Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation on Friday commenced the survey work for the most ambitious Metro Railway project in Bhubaneswar.
The survey work was carried out from Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan Square by the special team of the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation along with officials of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited, TPCODL, GAIL, BSNL, WATCO and Commissionerate Traffic Police.
The public road survey for the Metro railway project was conducted in the morning hours due to the intense heatwave prevailing in the region, as per reports.
The team surveyed the electricity poles, water pipes, telephone lines, gas pipelines and others in proposed metro station areas.
According to the plan, a 26-km metro railway line will connect Bhubaneswar Airport to Trishulia in Cuttack Trishulia.
Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had laid the foundation stone for the project on January 1, 2024.
