Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to see rise in temperature by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, the Regional Meteorological Centre of the IMD predicted on Friday.
“Maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to fall by 2-4°C during next 24 hours at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and thereafter it will again rise gradually by 3 to 5°C at many places over the districts of Odisha,” it said.
Meanwhile, the heat wave conditions have swept across the State. The capital city Bhubaneswar recorded maximum temperature of 40°C by 2.30 pm on Friday.
The Meteorological Centre has also issued thunderstorm warning for several districts of the State.
“Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Koraput, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and hailstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Boudh, and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha today,” it added.
