New Delhi: The three controversial farm laws that caused nationwide massive farmer protests will be repealed, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
“Maybe something was lacking in our tapasya, which is why we could not convince some farmers about the laws. So we have decided to repeal the three farm laws,” PM Modi said in his address to the nation.
The announcement comes on Guru Purab, when Sikhism founder Guru Nanak’s birthday is celebrated.
The PM said that the Cabinet will take the decision next month.
Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal have vehemently opposed the controversial farm laws and demanded their repeal.
