Sambalpur: The Hirakud Dam authorities opened three more sluice gates to release excess floodwater from the reservoir.
The authorities released the season’s first floodwater from five gates on Monday.
Currently, excess water is being released through eight gates.
The water level in Hirakud reservoir was at 614.56 feet today. 1,24,734 cusec water is entering the reservoir while 1,62,821 cusec water is being released through the gates.
