Bhubaneswar: Odisha Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Arun Sahoo has called for support to the milk farmers of the state at this critical time when the state is in a lockdown mode. Though the government has not imposed any restrictions on the movement of milk and milk products, the sales and use of it has declined considerably. This is affecting the farmers a lot and they need the patronage of the people. The sale of milk has decreased drastically through Omfed and other means.
He requested all to consume milk for better nutrition and help to the milk farmers. As milk has all the needed vitamins and minerals and keeps humans healthy, we should not discontinue its intake. More than 5 lakh people are involved in this sector and if we avoid milk, it will impact their livelihoods.
