TV artists Kanwar Dhillon, Neha Harsora, others share fondest memories of Ganesh Chaturthi

Mumbai:  On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, television actors Kanwar Dhillon, Neha Harsora, Rutuja Bagwe, Ankit Raizada and Goutam Sharma have shared their excitement to celebrate the festival, and have also given insights about their fondest memories of it.

Kanwar, who plays Sachin in the show ‘Udne Ki Aasha’, shared: “We will be having one or two days off; I’ll be visiting houses of my near and dear ones. There are some wishes I wish that are fulfilled, and I would convey those to Bappa. While growing up, we used to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in the vicinity where there was a big idol of Lord Ganesh. We used to dance during the procession, and then during visarjan post-immersion, we came back in trucks, and it used to be one kind of experience. The energy and enthusiasm are utmost during these 11 days.”

Neha, aka Sailee, from ‘Udne Ki Aasha’ commented: “We celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi every year with zeal and zest. Like every year, this too, we will celebrate it in our building, where Lord Ganesh will be visiting, and I enjoy this festival. My fondest memory of Ganesh Chaturthi is during Visarjan. Along with my family, we see these Visarjan processions, and it is a vibe, and we will get to watch the flower shower. One of the mandatory things that we do is a family dinner post-visarjan, and along with the festival, Modak too is my favorite delicacy.”

Rutuja, who is seen as Vaiju in ‘Maati Se Bandhi Dor’ said that this year she will be shooting on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

“I’ll be preparing Modak for Bappa and giving him an offering. Every year, I visit LalbaugCha Raja Pandal, and this year I ought to visit it. The occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi is even more special, as my birthday too comes during it. The wish I would ask for is going to be the safety of women– no more atrocities on women, more power to them,” she shared.

Goutam, aka Akshay from ‘Do Dooni Pyaar’ said: “This is going to be the first time I will be celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai. It is going to be an experience worth waiting for. One wish I would ask from Lord Ganesh would be good health and happiness for all, and this is a step to creating memories.”

Ankit, who essays the role of Aman Singh Rajpoot in the show ‘Advocate Anjali Awasthi’, shared: “This year, I’ll be celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi while balancing my shoot schedule, as I’m currently in Kolkata. Interestingly, we’ve also shot a special Ganpati scene for the show, which has added to the festive vibe on set. I’ll be heading to Mumbai to celebrate with my family and friends, as we always do.”

“Mumbai is known for its grand Ganpati celebrations, and it’s a tradition for us to enjoy the festival there. As for a wish, I’d love for this year to bring even more success and happiness, both personally and professionally. One of my fondest memories of Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai is from my teenage years, when I took a bigger role in the celebrations at home. I helped with decorating, arranging the flowers, and preparing for the aarti. The sense of togetherness with my family and neighbors during the festival, especially in the intimate setting of our home, is something I’ll always cherish. It made the entire celebration so meaningful,” he added.

The show airs on Star Plus.
