Two Elephants Mowed Down By Goods Train Near Rourkela

Rourkela: Two wild elephants were killed by a speeding parcel van train yesterday night near Rourkela. The incident occurred about 30 kilometers away on the Howrah-Mumbai railway line between Bhalulata and Jareikela when a herd of elephants were crossing the train line.

Two bogies of the goods train also derailed in the incident. Senior railway officials from Bandhamunda and forest officials from Bisra Range are on the accident site and investigating the incident. Rail services have been disrupted in the line after the incident.
