Two Persons Arrested for Selling Land with Forged Documents in Berhampur 

Berhampur: Two persons were arrested for allegedly selling land with forged documents, police said on Tuesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Dillip Kumar Mishra (72) and Asok Kumar Mishra (62), both belong to Govinda Vihar area under Nimakhandi PS in Berhampur.

As per police, one Saroj Kumar Mishra (65) of Sidharth Nagar 3rd Lane reported at Nimakhandi PS alleging that his brother Salil Ku. Mishra had purchased six plots from Asok Kumar Mishra in two phases under Gurunthi Mouza in 2010 and 2011. The proposal of sale of the land was given by Dilip Kumar Mishra, the elder brother of Ashok Kumar Mishra.

Dilip Mishra had fraudulently and dishonestly induced Salil to purchase lands from him by promising that he was the absolute legal owner of the six plots. Salil had given full payment.

After verification of documents shown by Bhagyeswari Biswas Roy and D. Panigrahy, it was revealed that the accused persons had sold someone else’s land by fraudulently manipulating the documents. After knowing all this they had one mutual agreed to refund money of Rs 15,00,000 with in a time period. But the accused persons didn’t keep their promises. Hence Saroj reported the matter to take legal action on it.

Both the accused persons are arrested and will be forwarded today. The investigation of the case is under progress, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
