UNDP Praises Odisha Govt’s 5T Initiative

Bhubaneswar: After the NITI Aayog, the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) has lauded the 5T initiative of the Odisha Government.

UNDP Resident Representative in India Shoko Noda met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Lok Seva Bhawan on Tuesday during her Odisha visit. She was apprised of the 5T and Mo Sarkar initiative.

Highly appreciating the initiative, Noda said that the Odisha Government’s 5T vision for progress is an inspiration for others.

“Delighted to meet Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik! His & Odisha’s ‘’5T’ vision 4 progress is an inspiration”, Noda tweeted.

She further expressed that the UNDP is proud to support the State’s development efforts, especially in disaster management and climate action.

While launching the initiative on October 2, 2019 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Naveen Patnaik said that people are the real masters in a democracy and every institution exists to serve citizens in a professional and dignified manner. Mo Sarkar is an initiative under the 5T model of governance to herald a transformation in government offices.

Initially, the programme was implemented at the state-run hospitals and police stations.
After getting overwhelming response, the State Government has included several other departments including Agriculture, Higher Education and Panchyati Raj in the Mo Sarkar programme on December 1.

The Women, Child Development and Mission Shakti department was brought under the purview of 5T and Mo Sarkar initiatives on Tuesday.

Recently, the NITI Aayog, a policy think tank of the Indian Government, has highly appreciated the 5T initiative.

‘Transformation, technology, teamwork, transparency & timelines. Odisha has adopted a 5T agenda to transform its education system, to achieve the goal of all children at grade-appropriate learning level in a school environment that is conducive and engaging”, the NITI Aayog said .
