New Delhi: The UPSC aspirants’ ongoing agitation at Jantar Mantar demanding the Central Government to provide extra attempts to appear the exam is gaining massive support on social media.
The USPC aspirants from across the country on Friday launched a protest demanding two compensatory attempts considering the hardships they went through during the Covid-19 period, and provide an additional attempt with corresponding age relaxation to all candidates.
The agitation has gained massive supports on the social media and has been trending with hastags such as #2CompensatoryAttempt4All, #UPSCExtraAttempt and # Satyagrahaforattempt.
“Hon SC asked the govt to take lenient view on the matter of granting us extra attempts so why has the govt not done so? Is SC’s request not important to the govt? We’re just asking for an attempt that was taken from us because of covid”, said an aspirant.
“Our demand is genuine. This was once in a hundred years event. The pandemic has completely destroyed our hopes and aspirations. Even the Hon SC and DSC recommendations have advised the govt to take a lenient view. Will the executive listen? Or will they watch us bleed to death”, another UPSC aspirant wrote.
“Please provide us attempt, we are struggling everyday to keep our dreams alive, waiting for a miracle to happen, one opportunity, one ray of hope.SATYAGRAHA FOR ATTEMPT”.
“Due toCovid19 many students were not able to prepare for exams. Some students lost their loved ones, some were unable to focus on studies due to such havoc situation. We demand from @PMOIndia for two compensatory attempts inUPSC/SSC/Banking/Railwaysexams”, another aspirant said.
“150+ MPs have written letters to the govt to grant us attempts. But even their requests have been disregarded. So if you don’t listen to the elected representatives voicing students’ grievance, is it still a democracy”.
“We believe in Gandhian way of protesting. We don’t believe in violence. Is that why are voices are not being heard? Does the govt not believe teachings of Gandhi anymore? Listen to our rightful demand”.
