Bhubaneswar: With today being the last day for filing nominations for various posts for the Urban Polls, candidates from all major political parties and independents filed their nomination papers.
In Bhubaneswar, Biju Janata Dal Mayor Candidate Sulochana Das went to the ADM office with hundreds of her supports in a rally and filed her nomination papers.
Briefing media, she said, I thank Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for reposing faith on me and I will work together with the cooperation of all for making Bhubaneswar the number one city of the country.
The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for Bhubaneswar’s Mayor post Suniti Mund also filed her nomination papers today. A number of Independent candidates also filed their nomination papers.
In Cuttack, BJD Mayor candidate Subash Singh filed his nomination papers. Likewise, Sritam Das also filed his nomination papers for the Mayor Post from Cuttack.
In Berhampur too long queues were seen at the ADM office where candidates from various political parties and independents lined up to file the nomination papers for the Chairperson and Corporator posts.
While the BJD has fielded Sanghamitra Dalei as its Mayor candidate for the BeMC, the BJP nominated Sabita Suara and Congress picked up Manju Rath for the top post.
