Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to construct a utility corridor at Gopalpur to provide logistics facilities required for existing and upcoming industries in the Gopalpur Industrial Park in Ganjam district.
The State Cabinet led by CM Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved the EPC tender for the project “Construction of Utility Corridor between Gopalpur Port and TATA Steel Industrial Park at Gopalpur to be executed through IDCO to provide logistics facilities required for existing and upcoming industries in the Gopalpur Industrial Park.
The corridor will provide seamless and effective operational linkages between TATA Steel Industrial Park and Gopalpur Port .
The State Government has taken a futuristic initiative to cater to the demand of existing and upcoming industries in the Gopalpur Industrial park for effective and economical logistics. The project is proposed to be implemented on EPC mode. The EPC Contractor will take up detailed design, engineering, construction and O&M for 10 years.
The scope of the work broadly includes site survey, detailed design, construction of road, sleeper for utility pipeline, internal and external infrastructure works, pump house with crane facility, firefighting works, storm water drain, flyover over PWD road, soil retaining structure, sleeper base, cable trench, SFRC compound wall, landscaping, high mast lights etc.
With the construction of the utility Corridor, the industrial development in the area will get tremendous boost.
The State Cabinet approved the project with a cost of Rs. 128.88 crores excluding GST. The cost includes construction, maintenance of the project during defect liability period of 5 years and operation and maintenance period of 10 years, according to an official release.
