Berhampur: The employees of Utkal Grameen Bank have threatened to go on a massive stir from November 24 in order to press for fulfillment of their five-point demand.

In a press note, the Utkal Grameen Bank Employees Association (UGBEA) highlighted its five-point demands, which include unconditional withdrawal of suspension order of Hrusikesh Patro, the cashier of Berhampur Branch and Divisional Secretary, UGBEA Berhampur Division, Compassionate Appointment to the eligible cases deceased prior to 20.12.2006, Regularization of sub-staff from the date of initial engagement, Recognition of all part time workers engaged in the Bank as part time group D employees of Bank and extension of minimum social security, and Single window operator A allowance to all the Office Assistant.

The UGBEA on Friday held press meets at its all regional headquarters in Berhampur, Phulbani, Raygada, Jeypore, Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna and Balangir to highlight their demands.

Due to the autocratic behavior of the Management, Chairman and the General Managers discontentment is precipitating day by day amongst the hundreds of workmen staff engaged in the Bank. Their autocratic behavior has crossed all the limits and the very example of the same is suspension of Hrusikesh Patro, the cashier of Berhampur Branch, the association alleged.

Violating the GOI instruction on fixing of Head Quarter of Patro, they fixed his HQ at a distance of 170 KM from his last pace of work. Since Patro exposed the loopholes on Covid-19 management, by the Regional Manager, creating plot in connivance with some staff, lodged a complaint of manhandling and arranging a preliminary report from Regional Manager, without going to the facts and figures arbitrarily they suspended Patro on 05.11.2020.
When the association asked the Management they took the plea of Preliminary Investigation Report and assured to reinstate Patro, after ascertaining the position of CCTV footage within two days. But, till date he has not been reinstated in his job, the association alleged.
