Various Corporations Under Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department And State Cooperative Bank Pay Dividend To Govt

Bhubaneswar: Various Corporations under the Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department along with the State Cooperative Bank have presented dividend to the Government of Odisha today in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The representatives of various Corporations presented an amount of around Rs 9 Crore to the Government today. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said that the dividend amount will be used for various development and welfare programmes of the State Government.

In a program organized at the State Secretariat, the representatives of the Odisha Agro Industries Corporation Limited, Odisha Cashew Development Corporation Ltd, Odisha State Seeds Corporation Ltd., and the State Cooperative Bank presented the Dividend amount cheques to Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik joined the program through video conferencing. Agriculture Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain and Cooperative Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak were also present at the program.

Odisha Agro Industries Corporation Ltd., presented dividends of Rs 2,52,17,218 for FY 2018-19 and Rs 3,10,37,576 for FY 2019-20. OAIC has been established since 1962 and had reported a net profit of Rs 94.33 crore by 2020-21. Odisha Cashew Development Corporation Ltd has also presented Rs 4,51,200 as dividend to the state government for FY 2019-20. Another Corporation under the Agriculture Department, the Odisha State Seeds Corporation Ltd gave Rs 23,20,567 200 as dividend to the state government for FY 2019-20.

The Odisha State Cooperative Bank has also paid a 2.16 per cent dividend on the share for the Financial Year 2020-21. The state government has a 22.5 percent stake in the bank. OSCB today paid an amount of Rs 2,78,49,425 as dividend for the financial year 2020-21.
