Bhubaneswar: Veteran Congress leader and wife of former Chief Minister of Odisha Janaki Ballabh Patnaik, Jayanti Patnaik passed away today. She was 90 years old. She was a former Member of Parliament from Berhampur and Cuttack. She died due to age related issues.
Born in 1932, Jayanti was a veteran Congress Leader and also became the President of All India Mahila Congress. She was also appointed as the first Chairperson of the National Commission For Women in 1992. She was also a noted litterateur and social activist. People from all walks of life have condoled her death.
