Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday seized illegal timber worth approximately Rs 7 lakh during a raid on illegal sawmill in Balasore district.
In a joint raid conducted by the Forest Wing of Odisha Village on running of an illegal sawmill without valid license at Muruna village under Simulia PS in Balasore, sawmill accessories along with valuable timber worth approx Rs.7 lakh was unearthed.
The sawmill accessories and timber were seized by the Vigilance.
In this connection, three forest cases in Soro Wild Life Range under Balasore Wild Life Division have been registered and are under investigation, the Vigilance said.
