Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), one of the oldest engineering colleges in Odisha, will be developed into a Centre of Excellence, said Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra.
After visiting the VSSUT along with Secretary To CM (5T) V K Pandian and Skill Development & Technical Education Secretary Hemant Sharma, the Chief Secretary said that the State Government is planning to make VSSUT into a Centre of Excellence.
The top officials held discussions with the Vice Chancellor, lecturers and students of VSSUT regarding the infrastructure development of the institute.
Currently, 5000 students are studying here, the number of seats will be doubled, the Chief Secretary informed.
The State Government will spend more than Rs 1000 crore for the infra development of VSSUT, he added.
