Well Marked Low Pressure to Cause Heavy Rainfall in Several Odisha Dists

Bhubaneswar: Several districts in Odisha will witness heavy rainfall under the influence of low pressure area (LPA) over coastal Odisha and neighbourhood, predicts the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As the IMD’s latest bulletin, under the influence of the well-marked LPA and strong monsoon flow, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph is very likely over sea off Odisha coast.

Following this, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cms) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Ganjam and Nayagarh, the IMD said.

The Met Department has issued an Orange Warning.

Similarly, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in Rayagada, Gajapati, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Keonjhar districts during the next 24 hours.

Under the influence of the well-marked LPA and strong monsoon flow, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph is very likely over sea off Odisha coast, the bulletin added.
