Kolkata: West Bengal has become the fourth state to pass a resolution against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
The West Bengal assembly on Monday passed the resolution against the CAA amid a massive protest across the country against the controversial law and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC).
“Citizenship (Amendment) Act is anti-people, the law should be immediately repealed,” Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in the Assembly.
Kerala, Punjab and Rajasthan have already passed a resolution against the controversial Act.
