Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet today gave its approval to various road projects worth Rs 448 Crore in western Odisha. The projects come under the aegis of Biju Expressway.
The proposal to upgrade the Biju Expressway to four-lane has also been approved by the Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The projects approved today belong to Nuapada and Kalahandi districts. Briefing media after the Cabinet Meeting, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said that about 174 kilometer Biju Expressway in these districts will be upgraded to 4-lane. The infrastructure development projects under the Biju Expressway will immensely help in the development of Western Odisha. After the 4-laning of the expressway, industrial growth and overall economic development will accelerate in Nuapada and Kalahandi.
The Cabinet Meeting held today approved eleven proposals in total.
