New Delhi: WhatsApp downloads fell by a massive 80% in India between October 26 and November 3, claims mobile analytics and intelligence firm Sensor Tower.
The numbers before the NSO group revelation was 8.9 million between Oct 17 and 25, and the week after was 1.8 million.
Meanwhile, Signal, an end-to-end encrypting messaging app, recorded downloads rise by 63% and Telegram’s downloads increased by 10% to 920,000.
This comes after the Facebook-owned platform had revealed that 1,400 global users were spied on by Israeli spyware Pegasus.
