Bhubaneswar: OMFED (Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation), one of the most popular brands in the State, has added yet another feather to its cap after it got appreciation from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The Chief Minister today tasted OMFED ‘rabdi’ and termed it as excellent.
After the inauguration of modern mega automated milk processing plant set up by OMFED at Arilo in Cuttack district, Naveen tasted sweet curd and said it as excellent.
The plant set up OMFED at a cost of Rs 263 crore is the largest plant in the state having capacity to process five lakh litre milk per day. The plant will produce various milk products such as milk powder, cheese, paneer and butter.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveen said that OMFED is the institution of lakhs of dairy farmers in the state.
The inauguration of the new plant will increase farmers’ incomes and benefit about 6 lakh farmers.
