Will Treat Puri Minor Girl Rape Case As A Red Flag Case: SP Kanwar Vishal Singh

Puri: The Puri police will tag the heinous minor girl rape case as a red flag case and file the charge sheet within just twenty days. Speaking to media, Puri Superintendent of Police Kanwan Vishal Singh said that the accused has been arrested from the border area of Bhubaneswar and Puri yesterday and after medical tests he will be court forwarded today. We are taking the case very seriously and with discussions with the Crime Branch it will be treated as a red flag case. We will also request the Court for a speedy trial of the case and bring it to a logical conclusion. We will also hold a meeting with the District Legal Services Authority regarding the compensation to be given to the minor victim.

Four teams were formed and put on to task by Puri Police to nab the culprit. The efforts of all the involved IICs and, City DSP and other police personnel helped in racking and arresting the accused. The police is investigating whether he has any past criminal records and found one previous case. The accused is a driver by profession and till now the police has not found anybody else’s involvement in this case.

The condition of the minor girl is said to be stable and the Police is in touch with her parents.
