With over 80,000 Cases for Second Consecutive Day, India’s COVID-19 Tally Crosses 39 Lakh, Death Toll Reaches 68,472

New Delhi: With over 80,000 cases of COVID-19 for the second consecutive day, India’s tally of those infected by the highly contagious virus crossed 39 lakh mark on Friday.

As per the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, as many as 83,341 persons tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the overall caseload to 39,36,347.

The country recorded 1,096 Covid-related deaths during the period taking the total death count to 68,472.

Meanwhile, 30,37,151 patients have recovered from the disease in the country. There are 8,31,124 active COVID-19 cases in the country, which is 21.11 per cent of the total caseload.
