Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today reiterated its commitment to join the global fight against cancer.
“On the World Cancer Day, we must reiterate our commitment to join the global fight against cancer”, tweeted the Odisha’s ruling party.
“Together, by spreading awareness about the fatal disease and helping those who suffer from it, we can make a difference”, the BJD expressed.

World Cancer Day is an international day that is celebrated on February 4 in order to raise awareness of cancer.
The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) organizes the World Cancer Day.
This year, “I am and I will” is the theme and it acknowledges that everyone has the capacity to act in the face of cancer.
On February 4, 2000, World Cancer Day was written into the Charter of Paris Against Cancer. The document was signed in between then French President Jacques Chirac and UNESCO General Director at that time, Koichiro Matsuura.
