Bhubaneswar: With the implementation of Mo Sarkar by the State Government in various departments being enforced in letter and spirit, it has started showing positive results and people are now feeling free to share their grievances during the feedback process.
An example of effective feedback and zero tolerance to undue work was seen Thursday when a beneficiary of the rural housing scheme gave a negative feedback to a query from the CMO and the action was taken within hours.
As a part of routine feedback by the Chief Minister’s Office, a phone call was made to one of the beneficiaries of the rural housing scheme from Balasore’s Paschimbad Gram Panchayat.
Questions on the service delivery were made and the beneficiary was asked whether he faced any red tape or he was asked for any illegal gratitude.
The beneficiary gave the feedback that he had to pay money to the officials for uploading the photo and clear his bills. The negative feedback was immediately referred to the District Collector and was asked to take immediate action. The Collector made an enquiry into the facts and also took feedback from further 15 beneficiaries. After getting the same response, the report was sent to the CMO.
After getting the report from the Collector, now the time was for action. The GRS Sabita Prusty who was involved in the issue was sacked and the concerned PEO Susant Kumar Jena was issued a notice. The Junior Engineer Dinesh Kumar Adha was also removed from his current work. The immediate response resulted in the payment of the pending dues to the beneficiaries.
Effective feedback system and the zero tolerance policy under the Mo Sarkar, have transformed the service delivery mechanism in the state. Now common people have the wherewithal to pass on their grievance and let higher officials about the difficulties they face in receiving their due.
