IMD Issues Yellow Warning for Thunderstorm, Lightning in Several Parts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning in several parts of Odisha.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 17.04.2022)
Yellow Warning( Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.04.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.04.2022)
Yellow Warning( Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.04.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.04.2022)
Yellow Warning( Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur and Rayagada.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.04.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 20.04.2022)
Light to moderate rain/ thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Gajapati.

There will be no large change in maximum temperature (Day Temperature) during the next five days over the districts of Odisha. Maximum temperature will be more than 40 degree Celsius at many places and likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degrees at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha during next 4 to 5 days, the IMD said.
