Mumbai LTT-Bhubaneswar Lokmanya Tilak Express Derails in Cuttack, Several Injured

Cuttack: Several passengers sustained injuries as Mumbai LTT – Bhubaneswar SF Express (12879) derailed near Nergundi railway station in Odisha’s Cuttack district today.

Chief Public Relations Officer, East Coast Railway has informed that twenty people were injured after eight coaches of Lokmanya Tilak Express derailed near Salagaon. No casualty has been reported till now.

The mishap took place when the passenger train hit a goods train standing on the same track.
The derailment occurred at around 6.30 am as the Super Fast express hit the guard van of a freight train possibly due to low visibility amid dense fog said a railway source.

Around eight coaches of the train derailed under the impact of the collision. the injured are being treated in SCB medical College hospital.
