Phulbani: The Job Fair organized by the Kandhamal District administration has been a huge success with more than Nine thousand participants registering themselves for various jobs on offer. The Job Fair organised by the administration in association with the Panchayati Raj department, SC-ST Department and KIIT University saw job offers from 71 companies.
While more than nine thousand youth registered at the first ever Nijukti Mela of this kind in the district, 4900 were selected for jobs and 1300 were selected for training linked placement in various institutions. Around 8000 candidates were from Kandhamal and 500 each from Bhajinagar and Nayagarh participated in the event.
Organised at the Coronation Grounds here, the event was inaugurated by Odisha Skill Development Minister Premananda Nayak. Kandhamal Member of Parliament Achyuta Samanta was also present on the occasion. KIIT University, founded by Dr Samanta, has played an important role in bringing together all the stakeholders to the meet.
The district administration led by Dr Brundha Devarajan made all arrangements in association with all the departments to make it a grand affair for the unemployed youth of Kandhamal district.
According to Collector Dr Brundha, this is good opportunity for all unemployed youths for their livelihood and will bring big transformation in their future. This is definitely going to add to the economic development of the families of those who have received appointment in the Job Fair.
