Odisha: 100 Special Buses to Be Deployed for Rath Yatra

Cuttack/Puri: As many as 100 special buses will be deployed between Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri for the hassle-free travelling of devotees during the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath this year.

It has been decided at the meeting attended by the officials of State Transport Authority (STA) and the Private Bus Owners’ Association.

The special bus services will be operational for seven days on special occasions during 9-day long sojourn of Lord Jagannath, as per the decision.

The passengers can avail bus services on June 30 (a day before Ratha Jatra), July 1 (Ratha Jatra), July 2 (a day after Ratha Jatra), July 8 (a day before Bahuda Jatra), July 9 (Bahuda Jatra), July 10 (Suna Besha), and July 11 (a day after Suna Besha).

Arrangement will be made to halt the special buses at Talabania in Puri.

Information centres will also be set up in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri for the passengers.
