Odisha Relaxes Pollution Check Norms for a Month

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today announced relaxation in pollution check rules for a month.

As the vehicle owners are facing problems in getting ‘Pollution Under Check’ (PUC) certificate, the state government has decided to relax checking of PUC certificates for a month.

It has been informed by Transport Secretary G Srinivasan.

He said that many people do not have the PUC certificate for which it has been decided to initiate steps to address the issue.

Now vehicle owners can obtain the certificate through online mode or else apply for the certificate manually, he added.

In a letter to all RTOs, the Transport Commissioner said that only 36 Pollution Testing Centers in Odisha have been authorised to issue online PUC certificate through VAHAN application, for which people are suffering as other existing authorised centres are yet to be linked online.

Meanwhile, Twin City Commissioner of Police Sudhansu Sarangi informed that a bike carrying three persons including a child below the age of 12 will be permitted.
