107 More High Schools in Ganjam Dist to Be Transformed, 5T Secy Interacts with Stakeholders 

Chatrapur: As envisaged by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, all state-run high schools in Ganjam district are getting a complete facelift under the 5T High School Transformation programme. On Tuesday, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian reviewed the progress of this ambitious programme across 20 blocks of the district.

As many as 107 schools in the district are going to be transformed in the third phase of the programme.

The 5T Secretary held interaction with high school students, teachers, members of school management committees, peoples’ representatives and other stakeholders from these blocks via video conferencing about the transformation programme.

During the interaction, the 5T Secretary elaborated upon the significance of the High School Transformation programme in helping the students in realizing their goals in life.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Government of Odisha is implementing various schemes and programmes to transform Odisha into an empowered Odisha. Efforts are being made to bridge the gap between rural and urban areas and build urban infrastructure in all rural areas in the State. All government schools will be transformed and provided with all facilities of education system.

This transformation will not be achieved by an individual, but only through collective efforts, the 5T Secretary said.

He also urged the Ganjam Administration to provide land RoR and ensure electricity supply, road connectivity to all transformed schools, along with other facilities for the beautification of the schools.

Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida, Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) Commissioner J Sonal, CDO-cum-EO, ZP, Ganjam Keerthi Vasan V, Chatrapur Sub-Collector Prasanna Kumar Patra, Bhanjanagar Sub-Collector Jyoti Shankar Ray, DEO Binita Senapati, BEOs and headmasters attended the video conferencing.

The High School Transformation programme is a dream project of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik that aims to give a complete facelift to the state-run high schools with modern facilities, such as world-class interactive and smart classrooms, e-library-cum reading rooms and modern science laboratories.

As many as 133 high schools in the first phase and 233 high schools in the second phase have been transformed in Ganjam district. All government high schools in Hinjili and Sheragada blocks have already been transformed under the programme.

The Odisha Government targets to cover all remaining schools in Ganjam by March 5 next year.
