12th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship: Odisha Register Impressive Victory in Final Pool C Match, to Face Punjab in Quarter-finals

Kovilpatti (Tamil Nadu): Odisha secured their berth in quarter-finals of ongoing 12th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship, with an impressive win against Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu on Tuesday.

The Men in Blue, coming on the back of 2 consecutive wins, completed the hattrick with the score-line reading 5-1 in Kovilpatti.

Roshanjeet Minz netted a brace for Odisha, in addition to goals from Laban Lugun, Sumit Kindo and Deepak Minz. The opponents managed to score a consolation goal in 40th minute through Niyaren Champiya.

It was an emphatic performance from last year’s bronze medal winners who continued their stellar show in the tournament. Notably, Akash Soreng was adjudged as man of the match for his outstanding display.

Odisha will now lock horns with Punjab on May 25 for a place in semi-finals.
