Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will today release Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation – KALIA to the eligible farmers of the state. More than 41 lakh eligible farmers will receive Rs 2000 in their bank accounts on the auspicious occasion of Nuakhai. According to official sources, an amount of about Rs 869 crore will be deposited in the bank accounts of the eligible small and marginal farmers of the state.
Under the KALIA scheme of the Government of Odisha, eligible farmers of the state receive financial assistance of Rs 2,000 twice each year on the occasions of Akshaya Tritiya and Nuakhai. While small and marginal farmers are eligible to get the benefit under support to cultivators for cultivation, land less agricultural households are eligible to get livelihood support under the scheme.
