5T Chairman Shares Video of India’s First Indoor Athletics Stadium at Kalinga Stadium Sports Complex
Bhubaneswar: Odisha has added yet another milestone in the field of sports infrastructure. The country’s first indoor athletics stadium has been built at the Kalinga Stadium Sports Complex in Bhubaneswar. It is also the South Asia’s largest indoor athletic stadium.
5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian took to Instagram to share the video of this state-of-the-art stadium.
“First glimpse of India’s first indoor athletics stadium. It is Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s gift to the nation and it’s champions. Odisha transforming the sports landscape of our glorious country”, Pandian captioned the video on his Instagram post.
The athletics stadium will help athletes train throughout the year without any external disturbances or hindrances. It will host national and international athletic events, providing a major boost to development of athletics in the State as well as country.
Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that this indoor athletic facility will be a major boost for the development of athletics in India and will become the hub to create champions in coming years.
The stadium can accommodate over 100 athletes for full-time coaching. It also has a classroom for studies, medical facilities and a dedicated pantry for inmates.
Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Odisha has created its special identity in the fields of sports with Bhubaneswar emerging as the sports capital of the country.
The iconic Kalinga Stadium has enhanced the glory of the State by hosting several prestigious global sporting events.
