Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal is leading by 15541 votes by the end of eighth round of counting in the by-poll to the Padampur Assembly seat in Bargarh district.
In the eighth round, the BJD secured 6040 votes, BJP got 3047 votes and Congress 503 votes.
The BJD led the seventh round by 2993 votes taking cumulative lead to 15541.
The by-poll was held on December 5 and had witnessed record voter turnout of 81.29 percent.
