CM Flags off LAccMI Bus Service in Five More Districts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday flagged off the LAccMI Bus service in five more districts through video conferencing.

The districts are Subarnapur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal and Sambalpur.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the people of the village can do their daily work conveniently and at low cost by using LAccMI Bus service. The LAccMI Bus service will ease our journey of life, bring prosperity to our homes.

The CM further said that he respects people’s wishes and all programmes of his government are based on the opinion of the people. After the 5T Chairman and CMO’s district visit, we felt the problems of the people and following the suggestions of the people, LAccMI Bus Yojana was prepared to solve the communication problem of the people of the village, said the Chief Minister.
A total of 205 buses operated in 700 Panchayats in these five districts benefiting more than 44 lakh people. As many as 58 buses ran in 102 Panchayats in Subaranpur. The scheme benefited over 5.73 lakh people in the district. 48 buses were introduced in 261 Panchayats of Cuttack and 18.37 lakh people were benefited. Similarly, 16 buses operated in 76 Panchayats of Jharsuguda benefiting 5.62 lakh people, according to an official release.

In Kandhamal, a total of 52 buses have been deployed in 164 GPs, which benefited 7.3 lakh people and 31 buses operated in 97 GPs in Sambalpur district benefiting 7.28 lakh people.

In this scheme, bus service from Panchayat to Block has been facilitated. More than 1000 buses will run across the state. In this innovative scheme, which has been launched under the 5T initiatives of the State Government, the Mission Shakti members have been given the responsibility of managing the bus service.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the LAccMI bus service will play an important role in strengthening the economy of the village.

Mentioning the recently launched Shri Jagannath Express Bus Service in this scheme, the Chief Minister said that Shri Jagannath Express Bus Service has been started for the darshan of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath and to experience the Srimandir Parikrama Project of the holy Trinity. The bus ticket price for women has been halved.

The Chief Minister further said that the LAccMI Bus will connect people to people and strengthen social and economic life, take the child to school and college and connect farmers to markets. He said that women and students can travel in this bus for only 5 rupees.
Ministers Tukuni Sahu and Niranjan Pujari, MP Achyuta Samanta, MLAs Padmanava Behara, Debi Prasad Mishra, Chandra Sarathi Behera, Dipali Das, Alaka Mohanty, Chakramani Kanhar attended the programme.

5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian coordinated the programme.
