Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each for Bhagabat Tungis of the State.
Bhagabat Tungi is the spiritual, cultural and social centre of the rural life. Bhagabat Tungi binds the entire village in a threat of unity. It is a glorious representation of the cultural identity of Odias, according to an official release.
The function of existing 7,200 Bhagbat Tungis in the State will be accelerated. For this, the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 50,000 each for Bhagbat Tungis.
The development of Bhagabat Tungis will be done through the Department of Odia Language Literature & Culture Department.
