Bhubaneswar: At least 11 places in Odisha recorded maximum daytime temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius on Thursday, informed the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar.
.Boudh and Malkangiri have become the hottest places in the State, experiencing daytime temperatures of 42 degrees Celsius.
The mercury hovered 40 degree Celsius or above at the places Baripada, Jharsuguda, Titilagarh, Nuapada, Rourkela, Bhawanipatna, Talcher, Bolangir and Rourkela.
The regional metrological centre said that the maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to rise by 2°C at a few places across the districts of the State.
