BJD Is Only Political Party That Has Given Priority to Middle Class People in Poll Manifesto: Kartik Pandian

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal is the only political party, which has given priority to middle class people in its electoral manifesto, said senior BJD leader Kartik Pandian here on Tuesday.

While campaigning for the BJD candidates in Bhubaneswar, Kartik Pandian said that the BSKY will provide healthcare to all. The middle class people have no such facility anywhere else, he added.

Interest rates will be lower for housing loans up to Rs. 20 lakhs. Education loan will also have lower interest rate. All public transport will have concessional fares for the middle classes, he said.

The BJD Government would provide scholarship of Rs 12,000 for boys and Rs 14,000 for girls.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken these steps to reduce the burden on the heads of the middle class people and reduce their expenses, the BJD star campaigner said.

Coming down heavily on the opposition, Kartik Pandian said the BJP had promised in 2014 that when it would come to power, it would reduce the prices of pulses, edible oil, petrol and diesel. Has anything been reduced, he asked?

What are the duties of the Bhubaneswar MP? Big projects were to be brought, schemes were to be brought to increase the income, but nothing was done, the senior BJD leader said.

The BJP MPs from Bangalore and Bhopal have brought projects worth Rs 40-50 thousand crore for their areas. Our MP has not brought anything to the area, he said.

The MP did not meet any expectations of the residents in Bhubaneswar, the senior BJD leader said.

The Chief Minister has high ambitions. World Cup hockey ground has been built in Kalinga Stadium. The CM is bringing metro rail to Bhubaneswar and other infrastructure development projects to the city, the BJD star campaigner said.
