Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal on Thursday made a scathing attack on the BJP government over the controversial statement made by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik.
“If you have dare, then arrest Naveen Patnaik”, BJD MLA Arun Sahoo challenged.
Naveen Patnaik has been elected to the Parliament three times and six times to the Odisha Assembly. He had been a Chief Minister for 24 years. Political leaders across the country have high regards for Naveen Patnaik because of politeness and good manner, said the BJD MLA.
The Governor or the Speaker has made no statement on Naveen Patnaik. Condemningly, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, in his address in the Assembly, has demanded the arrest of the LoP. The Minister’s statement should be dropped from the Assembly proceedings, Arun Sahoo said.
