Puri: The Odisha government has decided to conduct regular quality checks for Mahaprasad and ghee at Puri Srimandir.
The government will appoint a food inspector for this purpose, informed Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan.
The Minister said that every item will be subjected to a quality inspection before it enters the Roshasala (kitchen) of Lord Jagannath Temple.
The quality check will be done on all ingredients used in Mahaprasad preparation, including Abadha, he added.
