Berhampur: In a major boost to the Odisha Government’s ambitious Skilled-in-Odisha programme, as many as 42 girl students from ITI, Berhampur have joined a mobile manufacturing company in Telangana.
The students, who got the campus placements conducted by the institute last month, have joined Rising Star Mobile India Pvt Ltd, one of the leading manufactures and supplies of mobile phones and android devices in the country.
“It is a great moment not only for the ITI Berhampur but also for the State as such a large number of girls have moved from the ITI to lock their horns in professional fields”, said Dr. Rajat Kumar Panigrahi, Principal of ITI Berhampur.
It is heartening to note the fact that the students got placements before completion of their course, he added.
The girls have just appeared the AITT exam which was completed January 18.
The results are yet to be published.
Before getting the results, the students have been placed showcasing the success of the Skilled-In-Odisha programme.
