Two Dead In Cuttack Bridge Collapse Incident; Rescue Operations Continue

Cuttack: In a tragic incident, an old bridge today collapsed in Cuttack’s Chatra Bazaar area killing two persons and seriously injuring another person. The incident occurred today evening. On getting the information regarding the incident, ODRAF and Fire Services personnel swung into action and were able to bring out three persons from the debris. They were immediately shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital where two of them died. The old bridge was being used by street vendors to sell vegetables. While the rescue operations are still continuing, it is feared that more persons are trapped under the debris.

Senior officials including Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani, DCP Prateek Singh, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das have reached the spot and supervising the rescue operations.
