Udit Shukla: I’m a firm believer in taking myself out of my comfort zone

Mumbai:  Actor Udit Shukla, who was seen in ‘Dhhai Kilo Prem’, ‘Rangrasiya’, ‘Suvreen Guggal’ among others feels portraying a character is a truly liberating experience.

He says: “Anyone who has had even a minor, supporting role in a show, or who has debuted in their first ever show, will admit that learning to act and to portray a character is a truly liberating experience. Not only is it time spent forgetting about all of your own worries, be it financial crisis or relationship troubles or can be work stress and other concerns, it is a time to soak up all of the energy and gusto of the person you are playing and transmit that to the stage.”

Udit feels his love for art turns out to be his daily inspiration. He continues: “It is often said that some people ‘are meant for the stage’. In fact, many parents and grandparents proudly talk of their younger generations being destined for life as a star, because of their wild imagination and don’t care attitude.”

“While I do believe that some people are indeed born to be actors, I am in no way saying that less self-assured human beings shouldn’t even bother competing. Far from it! But I have seen showbiz has been grateful to everyone. If not today then for sure tomorrow.

“If you have that talent and you are working hard passionately the industry will reward you. No barriers could stop you. As an actor I’m very much happy. As I’m earning while doing something I enjoy a lot. So I never feel like bunking or tired to get up to go for shoots. My love for my art encourages and inspires me.”

The actor currently seen as Abhishek Pandey in the show ‘Rang Jaun Tere Rang Mein’ credits acting to bring out the best from him.

He adds: “I am a firm believer in taking myself out of my comfort zone to really find a sense of accomplishment. I’m thankful to be here and that an acting career is the perfect way to bring an introvert’s personality and emotions to the surface and help me to realise that it is good to express myself and to be heard even if it is through the voice of my on screen character initially.”
