Bhubaneswar: The day temperature in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar crossed 40 degree Celsius for the first time this summer, according to the Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar on Monday.
While, the capital city Bhubaneswar registered maximum temperature of 40.2 degree Celsius on Monday, Cuttack recorded maximum temperature of 40.5 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, the heat wave conditions continue to prevail across the State with 21 places recording temperature of 40 degree Celsius or above.
Angul became the hottest place in the State with 43.7 degree Celsius.
